I am Domenico, "Il Mollettaio".

My unique passion lies in transforming simple wooden clothespins into works of art that evoke the grandeur of churches, cathedrals and imaginative creations. Each clothespin is placed with millimetric precision, one after another, to form the imposing and majestic architecture of my pieces. With every creation, I strive to capture not only visual beauty but also the very essence that each architectural structure embodies.

Domes rising toward the sky, elegant arches embracing space, intricate windows that tell ancient stories, and bell towers standing proudly against the horizon, each clothespin becomes a vital element, a bridge between the simple and the sublime, transforming a humble material into a symbol of art and creativity.

The website was created by me, Gabriele Giacopino, as a tribute to Il Mollettaio.

In August 2023, Il Mollettaio passed away, leaving behind not only his artworks but also deep sadness. He was always a good man, kind to everyone, and all of us, his family, mourned his loss. This website, dedicated to his works, will remain permanently online in memory of Il Mollettaio. Unfortunately, it can no longer updated with new projects, but it will stay open forever as a lasting tribute.
