The day I leave for vacation or for fun,

I am full of joy and I am happy.

I'm leaving to see other things and visit other places,

Because Italy is beautiful and you have to see it at all costs.

But when the day of return comes,

My contentment cannot be hidden.

I can't wait to get back to the Villa and board,

Above the ferry that takes me to the other port.

With tears in my eyes I see the land of happiness,

Because I'm in my city.

U ionnu chi pattu pa villeggiatura o pi divettimentu,

sugnu chinu di gioia sugnu cuntentu.

Pattu pi vitiri iautri cosi e visitari iautri posti,

picchì l'Italia iè bella, e sava visitari a tutti costi,

però quannu veni u ionnu i ritunnari,

a me cuntintizza non si po mucciari.

Non vitu l'ura i ritunnari a Villa e nbaccari

supra lu trachettu chi mi potta nta lautru pottu.

Chi lacrimi nta locchi vitu a terra da felicità

picchì sugnu nta me città.
